REMINDER: FRIDAY, MAY 17 IS THE LAST DAY FOR LATE WORK DUE TO ABSENCE. THE REMAINDER OF THE SCHOOL YEAR (AFTER MAY 17),  WILL BE SPENT ON PREPARING FOR THE FINAL EXAM PROJECT AND COMPLETING FINAL EXAMS.

 Happy Second Week of Block Schedule! Here is a breakdown of our week:

Monday: 

Freshmen - Independent Reading Monday. Read chapters 5 and 6 of To Kill a Mockingbird and answer the questions for both chapters.

Sophomores - In preparation for our Synthesis Practice Essay: Read and Take notes on Articles in the study sync book: Silent Spring, Shading the Earth and The Science of Genetically Altering Foods.

 

Tuesday/ Wednesday: 

Freshmen - discuss chapters 3 and 4 answers from last week, turn in chapter 5 and 6 questions, read chapters 7 & 8. 

There is also a project choice. Please see me for directions if you were absent:)

Sophomores- In preparation for our Synthesis Practice Essay; Article/ Literature Jigsaw. 6- 7 short stories, poems and articles were assigned to read and annotate in groups. Each group is responsible for reading, understanding and annotating one pieceof literature according to how technology effects us in negative and positive ways. Each group started teaching their portions to the class today and will finish the next time we meet. 

 

Thursday/ Friday

Freshmen-

Discuss chapters 5 and 6 questions.

Perform or Narrate projects from our last class session. 

Test on To Kill a Mockingbird, chapters 1-8.

 

Sophomores-

Finish Teaching Articles. Review articles and highlight main points that match annotations. Begin Synthesis  essay outline.
