Principal's Message

It has been a hot, but great start to our 2019-2020 school year.  Our students are excited and engaged in every classroom we walk through.  Hopefully your son/daughter came home and told you about the team that his/her class is a part of.  Every class is a part of one of four new teams this year.  They worked collaboratively to create their team name and poster, which you can see displayed in the front office.  We have the Noble Narwhal Whales, Stellar Stingrays, Sensational Sea Turtles, and Deep Sea Dolphins.  The students are already very excited about the points they have been earning for their teams.  At Friday Flag you will now see classes sitting with their teammates, as opposed to in grade levels.  We are hoping the enthusiasm continues and this builds a feeling of cooperation and positivity across the campus.

We were thrilled to see so many families show up to our first PTA movie night a couple of weeks ago.  It was perfect weather for a night under the stars.  Please refer to your calendar for upcoming PTA events.  September winds down with Because Nice Matters Week and our first book fair.  Then October is jam packed with many opportunities to be involved here at NVES.  We have a Friday spirit, Disney, day, Red Ribbon Week, our annual Fall Festival, the Title I Parent Information night, and of course our yearly parent--teacher conferences.  You conference is an important time to meet with your child's teacher, learn about his/her progress, voice any concerns you may have, and of course ask all questions.  Dates/times will be coming home soon, so please mark your calendars.  If for some reason you need to re-schedule, make sure to reach out to the teacher ahead of time, as a courtesy to all.

As always if you have any questions or concerns, you can contact your childs's teacher or administration anytime.  Email is usually the fastest, but your a phone works as well.
