Letter from the Principal

Dear French Valley Families,

Welcome to French Valley Elementary School, Home of the Flyers.  As the principal of French Valley, I, like many of you, have come to realize what a truly special place this school is.  Whether you have been part of the French Valley community for many years, a few months, or this is your first visit, you are now part of a special community that places a high priority on quality learning and teaching, a community where character matters, and a community that, above all else, values its children.

A walk through our school’s walls will reveal dedicated and professional teachers and staff that have high expectations for themselves and students.  Our teachers are committed to their own professional growth and learning. They are skilled at what they do, and they combine this skill with a passion for teaching children.  Helping children become lifelong learners is a goal toward which we continually strive by instilling a strong desire to learn within our students. Rigorous reading, writing, mathematics, and science and social studies standards are the foundation of our program and provide our students with opportunities to demonstrate the competencies needed to contribute and to succeed in an ever-changing world.

Our talented, thoughtful, and hard working children are another reason why this community is a special one.  Beyond the academic work they do in their classrooms, with the guidance and support of their parents and teachers, our students are learning to become responsible citizens who demonstrate leadership and acts of kindness.

Finally, I would argue that what makes our community so special is the quality of the relationships that exist between home and school.  Our parents dedicate hundreds and hundreds of volunteer hours each school year, and they plan engaging and exciting activities for families to share with one another.  Most importantly, our parents and teachers trust one another and work closely with one another to ensure we’re all doing what’s best for our children.

I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating;  I am very honored and privileged to serve as the principal of French Valley Elementary School, and I am looking forward to making this year and future years exciting, engaging, and successful for all of our Flyers.
