Discipline points and consequences are designed to be cumulative to support students in learning from and correcting a behavior that did not meet the expectation. Each student begins the school year with zero discipline points. As the school year progresses, student discipline point accrue and may prevent students from participating in school wide activities depending on grade level and the number of point accrued. More specific information on discipline points as it relates to school-wide activity participation is outlined on the “Positive Behavior Support” page.
The following chart shows a sample of the progression of behavioral consequences. It should be noted that, the consequences may vary depending on the severity and frequency of the displayed behavior.

Expulsion Recommendation
Dress CodeThe Temecula Valley Unified School District dress code policy is adhered to at Bella Vista. Please see our Dress Code Examples page for examples that meet the BVMS dress code. When necessary, students will be issued appropriate replacement clothes.
Replacement clothing issued needs to be washed and returned to school the following day.Electronics
Electronics/Novelty items are not to be brought on school buses or on campus and will be confiscated, if seen. Please see the student handbook or ask an administrator if you have questions. Since novelty and electronics are not to be on campus, BVMS assumes no liability for such items.
Cell phones are allowed but must be turned off and placed in a student's backpack while on campus. BVMS assumes no liability for cell phones brought on campus.Food, Candy, and Gum
Food and candy should be eaten at the appropriate time of the day. Chewing gum is not allowed at BVMS.
PDA (Public Display of Affection)
Students are not to participate in public displays of affection while on campus at BVMS.
** Progressive discipline is an important component to maintaining an effective and productive learning environment. By following a consistent and clear policy where behavior expectations are taught and students are supported in successful behavior choices students develop skills in positive decision making and thoughtful choices.
