Interdistrict Transfer Request Into TVUSD - For Students NOT Currently Enrolled
UPDATES:
2024/25 (current) school year: Available now, based on space availability
2025/26 (Next) school year: Available now, based on space availability (Notifications will be sent via email no later than June 2025.
Students from the Murrieta and San Diego County Districts:
As of the 2022-23 school year, Interdistrict Transfer requests between TVUSD and the following districts will be approved for the entire grade span (elementary, middle, or high school):
- Murrieta Valley Unified School District
- All school districts within San Diego County
Once approved, students from these districts will only need to submit renewal requests for middle school (6th grade) and high school (9th grade).
Students from all other districts must continue to submit yearly renewal requests up to, and including, 10th grade.
STEPS TO FOLLOW:

STEP 1: Submit the online portion for the year you are requesting:
• For the 2024/25 (current) school year, CLICK HERE

A copy of the online portion(s) submitted will be sent to the email provided (please check your spam folder)
STEP 2: Obtain required documents (2A & 2B):
2A) Interdistrict Transfer Request Form (also known as "Attendance Permit" or "Release").
Contact and/or visit the website for your district of residence, to obtain an approved Interdistrict Transfer Request Form out of their district. This applies even if your child has never attended there.

You may access their Interdistrict Transfer form online on their website, here. Please submit Murrieta district forms in PDF format and with your hand-written signature, along with any other required documents from B) below, to transfers@tvusd.us
- For all other districts:
Please start at their website and/or contact them to obtain an approved Interdistrict Transfer form. Most other districts will send their approved forms directly to us. You may also email their approved and signed form in PDF format, along with any other required documents from 2B) below, to transfers@tvusd.us

STEP 3: Submit all required documents:
Submit all documents from Step 2A) and 2B) above at the same time, via email and in PDF format to: transfers@tvusd.us
STEP 4: Wait to hear back from us:
Transfer requests are subject to space availability at our schools in the grade and/or program requested.
If approved, we will attempt to honor your requested school. However, we reserve the right to place students at any of our schools within the district.
Notifications will be sent via email:
▪ For requests received up until 15 days before the start of a school year:
As soon as possible and no later than 14 days after the start of school
▪ For requests received 15 days before the start of a school year and after:
As soon as possible and no later than 30 days after receipt of the complete transfer request
DO NOT unenroll / withdraw your child from your current school in another district, unless you receive an approval from us to attend one of our schools.
Parents should plan on attending their district of residence until they receive a response.
