Peter McKee
  • My name is Peter McKee and I am excited, honored and humbled to serve as the new Principal of Gardner Middle School.  I am very excited for this school year to meet each of you, learn the culture and traditions of Gardner Middle School.  It has already been a wonderful year and I look forward for that to continue.

I can tell you that the reputation each of you has helped build at Gardner stretches for miles.  I have heard so many wonderful and positive things about Gardner, it excites me to be part of such a great community.

I was raised in Carlsbad, graduated from San Diego State and began my career in education immediately.  After a short stint as a substitute, I spent thirteen years in the classroom teaching math and science and the next thirteen years in administration, most recently at Black Mountain Middle School in Poway.

This year will be my 29th year in education.  I have been involved in both high school and middle school in those years.  Additionally, I have spent many years coaching both football and baseball in high school as well as a couple of years coaching baseball at the collegiate level.

I look forward to hearing the ROAR of our Grizzly students as they achieve success in the classroom and around campus. It’s a Great Day to be a Grizzly!
