• knight Dear NVES families,

We are quickly heading into the winter break and then the end of the first semester of our 2018-2019 school year.  The year is passing in a blur.  We want to remind everyone that as tempting as it is to take days off or to check students out early, this is a disruption to the learning enviornment for both your student and the classroom.  I know it seems like there are many fun activities and art projects happening the classrooms right now, which is true, but there is also a lot of learning still taking place.  This is also the time of year when teachers have to have students complete their end of semester assessments.  Any time a student is out of class s/he is missing information.  If an assessment is missed, it will have to be made up, upon the child's return.  This can be quite stressful for a student because s/he is not taking it at the same time, with the rest of the class.  This could result in scores that are not at the child's best potential.  We always want our students to have the best environment and learning opportunities as possible.  If you do know you are going to be out ahead of time, please let the classroom teacher know as soon as possible, so appropriate arrangements can be made.  We thank you in advance!

On a lighter note....we want to wish everyone a Very Happy Holiday Season.  We were excited to kick things off with our Cookies and Books with Santa.  It was wonderful to see the looks of excitment on our students' faces as they saw Santa, painted holiday ornaments, and made their elf traps.  We hope that everyone has the opportunity to spend time with loved ones and friends.  We hope that you are able to get some much needed rest and relaxation and we look forward to continuing on with our school year come January.

As always, if you have any questions that you would like to ask us, please feel free to send us a voicemail or email (charman@tvusd.k12.ca.us or ceagleton@tvusd.k12.ca.us)
