• knight Dear NVES families,

It is that time of year many call the "downhill slide," with only 32 days of school left.  We start looking forward to summer vacation and all of the fun the warm weather brings with it!  But there is still so much to accomplish during the school year.  Attendance continues to be important; students need to come to school everyday so that they do not miss out on important instruction.  We teach all the way up to those last few days of school.  We also have end of second semester district assessment in English Language Arts and Math that serve a large percentage of the students' grades.  CAASPP testing for grades 3-5 begins Monday, May 6 and will run through Wednesday, May 22.  All of our 3-5 grade classrooms will be testing each day from 8:55am until recess time at 10:45am.  Please make arrangements to have any appointments scheduled outside of this time block.  We will not be interrupting classrooms during this time for any reason.

On a lighter note....there a lot of fun and exciting things going on around Nicolas Valley through the end of the school year.  Our annual BOGO book fair begins Wednesday, May 1 and we have an Imagination Machine assembly coming to perform at the end of May.  Our PTA will also be hosting a Family Movie Night at a local theater in the middle of May.  In addition, many grade levels have field trips planned off campus and a variety of activities/assemblies here on campus.  Make sure to check your child's backpack and teacher emails/messages for information and reminders regarding all upcoming events.  Let's have a great end to the  18/19 school year!

As always, if you have any questions that you would like to ask us, please feel free to send us a voicemail or email (charman@tvusd.k12.ca.us or ceagleton@tvusd.k12.ca.us)
