Welcome to Day Middle School.  I consider myself extremely fortunate to be the educational leader of this outstanding school.  So that you may know a little about your child's principal, I have included a short bio.  I grew up in San Diego and was slated to follow in my grandfather’s and father's footsteps by becoming a commercial tuna fisherman.  While attending college at the University of San Diego, where I earned my BA in English, I served in a high school youth program and discovered that my passion was to be involved with kids.  After college, I moved to Riverside County in 1989 and began teaching seventh and eighth-grade English in Moreno Valley.  In 1992, I earned my MA in Education Administration from Azusa Pacific University.  In addition to teaching, I coached a variety of sports at various levels.  I was hired in the Temecula Valley Unified School District in 1997 as the Assistant Principal at Vail Ranch Middle School. In 2002, I moved to Temecula Middle School and served as Principal until 2017.  I have been Principal at Day Middle School since the 2017-18 school year, and I desire to continually build strong relationships with the school community.  My wife and I have been married since 1989, and we have an adult daughter, and a son and daughter-in-law.  In my free time, I regularly enjoy playing racquetball and working out.  In addition to work and play, I delight in serving on the mission field in Uganda, Africa; I have traveled there every other year since 2008.  I look forward to working with you in the coming school year.
