Hello and welcome to High School Geometry!
Geometry means the "Study of the Earth." We will be learning about the concepts of points, lines, planes, space, polygons and circles. We will be using logic to justify our answers. The Pythagorean Theorem is at the core of most of our theorems and concepts. We will end the year with a study of Trigonometry and measurement of three-dimensional objects to find their surface area and volume.
Please ask questions in class as often as needed and stay after class if you need further individual help. I will also be in my room (1409) every Thursday at lunch to assist you whenever you need tutoring. Advisement passes to come to my room must be requested 2 days in advance. Advisement time will not be used to make-up or re-do tests or quizzes. Intense tutoring will be scheduled 3 times out of the semester for 2 weeks at a time during advisement and students are chosen by the teacher who show that they are attempting to do all their work, but are struggling with the concepts.
Attached below is the syllabus for this class the semester.
I look forward to working with you this semester.
