B.A., Literature, Wheaton College (IL) J.D., University of San Diego
Welcome to our English class. Here's some information about me.
I have been with this district since I began teaching, and I am happy to be here!
Teaching is a second career for me. In my "former life" I practiced law as a Legal Aid attorney. I went to USD Law School. My undergraduate degree is from Wheaton College, IL. I was a Literature major and, although I enjoyed certain aspects of the law, I feel like I have returned to my first love -- English/Language Arts.
My husband, Steve, works for Flatiron Construction Corp. as a Senior Estimator. We have twin daughters, pictured with me above, left. (That shot was taken many years ago now, but I think all you parents out there can appreciate what I mean to express with it: what a "wild ride" parenting is, right?!)
Figurative speech. Sometimes that's what it's all about...the use of the imagination... imagery and metaphor -- again, I love Language Arts/English because I get to share my enthusiasm for these things. I hope you too will "enjoy the ride" as we study literature and learn to express ourselves with the written word. With best wishes for this year then,
~ Mrs. Bell
