Hello, my name is Mendy Giapapas! I teach English 10 Concepts and Career Transitions at Great Oak High School. This is my 9th year as a RSP Teacher and Case Carrier. Previously, I was an Instructional Assistant at GOHS in the general education setting for 5 years, supporting students on an IEP with their accommodations before I became a teacher. I am the dually tagged Case Carrier, supporting students that are on an IEP and who are English Learners (EL). I previously enjoyed coaching girls soccer for two years at GOHS.
My husband Chris and I have been married for almost 35 years and all 3 of our children are Great Oak High School Graduates: Theo 32- Organic Produce Farmer, Lars 29- Real Estate & Marketing Sales, and Seanna 21- College Student majoring in Environmental Science. Our family is our life!! We love to laugh, cook together/eat, boat, fish, golf, play volleyball, play soccer (are huge sports fans), listen to music/dance, etc:)) We have a 5 year old cat, KiKi-Mo and a 4 year old Cattle Dog, Bindi.
I love what I do! I feel lucky that I am able to serve daily at GOHS...it gives me a sense of great purpose, of giving, and helping others:)
