Mrs. Alforque
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF...
I grew up in Ventura County (California) with my parents, older sister, and younger brother. I went to college at Chapman University.
Prior to coming to Temecula, my first teaching experience was 6th-8th grade physical education in Gardena, California from 1999 to 2002. In my first year in Temecula, I taught 7th grade physical education at Vail Ranch Middle School for one year (2002-2003). After that, I transferred over to help open Gardner Middle School in 2003-2004. And have been here ever since...
When I am not teaching, I enjoy walking, reading books, and spending time with my husband and two beautiful daughters.
The best way to contact me is via email at jalforque@tvusd.us
What PE looks like in Mrs. Alforque's class...
I am not looking for the fastest runners or the best athlete. I am here to teach you the basic skills of some sports, introduce you to a variety of games and activities, and help build your fitness and health knowledge. As you grow and get older, I hope the information you learn from me (whether it's a little or a lot) will help you build healthy fitness habits.
I am looking for you to try your best. Not everyone will be at the same fitness level or know all the games and rules of a sport. I want you to be comfortable learning at your level. I want you to ask questions when you're confused (someone else may also be confused) whether it's in class or via an email or Canvas Inbox message.
Our class is about learning and working with others, so respect for yourself, respect for others, and respect for the equipment/PE area are important. Please do your part! Let's encourage each other and help make our PE class a fun and safe place to be.
IN OUR CLASS...
We are A TEAM
We are POSITIVE
We RESPECT each other
We TRY our best
We MAKE GOOD CHOICES
We are KIND
We are HONEST
We LISTEN to each other
We WORK HARD
We ENCOURAGE each other
We are ALL IMPORTANT
***What will you do today to be this kind of person? How will you use these skills outside of PE class to be a better person?***
