Dear Parents and Students,                                                                                                       

Welcome to a new school year at Bella Vista Middle School!  This year is a very important year for your child in school.  This school year is vital because it is a time to prepare your child for the challenges of high school.  In preparation for the transition to high school, it is very important the student realizes their personal responsibilities in the learning process and that they approach their education seriously.  In addition, attendance in my class is important.  My syllabus, and classroom norms and expectations are in Canvas and on my website.  Please take the time to read the information.

 When students are absent, it is their responsibility to check and see what work they missed while they were out.  Daily work is posted in my Canvas class in the weekly modules.  Absent work will be accepted without penalty. Most absent work will consist of notes.  All tests and quizzes missed while absent must be made up when the student returns to class.  It is the student’s responsibility to contact me about making up tests and quizzes. 

Grades are posted on a regular basis and allow you constant access.  There will be no weekly or biweekly grade reports coming home.
