Mrs. Tarah Gilbert

Hi! My name is Mrs. Gilbert and I am so excited to be your 3rd grade teacher this year.  It’s going to be a fun year full of learning, creating, and exploring; and I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us!  I want to know ALL about you, but first, I’m going to tell you a few things about me.

I grew up in Northern California and am the oldest sibling.  I have two sisters and one brother.  After I graduated high school, I went to Chico State for two years before transferring to San Diego State.  It was there that I received my B.A. and Masters Degree in Education.  GO AZTECS!  I loved San Diego so much, that I decided to make Southern California my permanent home.

I am married to Mr. Gilbert and we have two amazing and spunky children.  My blue-eyed little girl's name is Hadley. She is seven and currently believes that she is going to be a neonatal nurse when she grows up.  She will be attending TTES as a second grader this year! My handsome little man, Branson, will be six this October and will be a kindergartener at TTES this school year.  He currently loves baseball, chocolate milk, and wants to be an ambulance driver and fireman when he grows up.  They are so much fun and always keep me on my toes!  We also have a rescue dog named Gunner.  The kids call him “Puppy Gunner”, even though he’s about eighty pounds and eight years old!  Gunner snores really loud and does a ton of cool tricks.

This will be my 13th year teaching elementary school.  I previously taught third grade, fourth grade, and kindergarten with the Vista Unified School District.  This will be my fourth year teaching 3rd grade at Tony Tobin, and I cannot be more thrilled!  We are going to have an AMAZING year together!!!
