Mr. Abe Castro
Hi there! My name is Abe Castro and I am a resource specialist for 5th grade this year at Temecula Elementary School. I also manage students from other grade levels but I primarily work with 5th graders and the 5th grade teachers.
As an education specialist my job is to help case manage a number of students who have IEP's (Individual educational Plans) to help provide access to the general education curriculum. I work with general education teachers and parents to help monitor my students on IEP's and help them with their goals in reading, writing and mathematics. Myself and my aides provide assistance in the general education classroom as well as pull out students to help work on remedial and foundational skills in reading writing and math. It is very important for parents to help work with myself and the IEP team to ensure the success of their child's educational career as they go into middle school and high school.
A little bit of background, I graduated from Chaparral High School here in Temecula. I was a substitute teacher for Temecula Valley for 2 years and did my student teaching at Great Oak High School. This will be my 3rd year at TES. I am also a member of the Temecula Valley Unified School District LGBTQIA teacher club.
"Good, better, best, never let it rest. Until your good is better and your better is best."
Fun Fact: I graduated from college with my degree in music I enjoy singing and I am classically trained. I currently sing for the Temecula Valley Symphony Choir.
