• The GATE identification process is done through the TVUSD district office. If your student has been identified in a previous district as Gifted it is important that you inform your counselor or the district office for your student to receive services accordingly. 

    If you would like your student to be tested for the GATE program, contact the CHS Principal, via email and inform them that you would like your student assessed. Assessments are done 1x per year in the fall.

  • TAG / GATE Project

    All GATE activities are done through our TAG ASB-sponsored club.

    We go on college trips, hands-on experiences such as:

    • Physics Day
    • Olvera St Day of the Dead
    • LA Zoo
    • Getty Villa
    • Getty Museum
    • Sea World
    • The Broad Museum
    • Malibu Pier

     

    We also sponsor community activies though community service. This year's fall community service activity is Christmas cards for the children at Rady's Children's Hospital. 

    We are in the process of making their cards.

    (Talented and Gifted ASB Club) 

    Talented and Gifted ASB Club

    Meetings are the 1st Thursday of every month in room 309 at lunch.

    The purpose of TAG will be the following:

    • Develop and enhance the skills of Gifted and Talented students through extended activities;
    • Offer opportunities for leadership (this is great of college apps);
    • Develop the academic community at Chaparral High School;
    • Guide gifted students to reach their goals; intellectually, emotionally and socially;
    • Offer opportunities for social events with similar peers.

    Membership

    • All members are required to be CHS students.
    • GATE students and their friends are welcome to participate.
