Turf Removal Around Town

Turf Removal Around Town

HAVE YOU SEEN THESE SIGNS AROUND TOWN? ARE YOU WONDERING WHAT THEY MEAN?

This is a photo of a Rancho California Water District sign letting people know of our turf projects.

Well let us fill you in on what all is going on!

We here at Temecula Valley Unified School District have partnered with Rancho California Water District to remove turf at two more of our school sites! Vintage Hills Elementary School and Sparkman Alternative Education Center will soon be revamping their look! What exactly are we doing you ask? We are removing the turf from the schools and updating the landscaping to include drought tolerant native plants and permeable decomposed granite. (You can learn about permeable decomposed granite by following this link.) This will help immensely in lowering the water usage at these two sites, which in turn will help us to continue to further our conservation program throughout the district!

If you're interested in seeing how these projects will turn out, feel free to swing by any of the following locations to see what we've done with projects like this already!

  • Chaparral High School (including the football field)
  • District Office
  • Gardner Middle School
  • Redhawk Elementary School
