This pathway is designed to get students ready for a career in IT, especially Cybersecurity. The introductory course IT Essentials is a comprehensive overview of computer hardware and software with an introduction to advanced concepts. In the concentrator course Internet Engineering 1, students learn network architecture, IP addressing, build simple local area networks (LAN) that integrate IP addressing schemes, foundational network security, and perform basic configurations for routers and switches. The capstone course, Internet Engineering 2, focuses on switching technologies and router operations that support small-to-medium business networks and includes wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts.
