Mr. Ben Argent
Hello Pumas!
My name is Ben Argent and I am excited to teach your student this year in Algebra 1 or Geometry. I graduated from Chaparral in 2013 and continued my education at CSU San Marcos, majoring in Mathematics. Shortly after, I enrolled at Western Governors University where I obtained my teaching credential and masters degree in Teaching Mathematics in Education (Secondary). This is my first year as a math teacher at Chaparral.
Algebra 1/Geometry is a very important class for your students. The material and standards students will face are in many important exams such as the SAT and ACT. Algebra 1 is the foundation block of your students' mathematical education, while Geometry focuses on the extension of that foundation and building on conceptual thinking and practical applications.
I hope my students will be one step closer to becoming effective problem solvers, collaborative group members, and critical thinkers after this school year. The best way to communicate with me is by email (bargent@tvusd.us) or you can also reach me by phone at (951) 695-4200 ext 714.
Students can access ALL course content through Canvas by logging on through their Clever account. I post assignments daily and keep all my students informed of any changes made necessary throughout the school year.
