January 14, 2021 COVID-19 Vaccine Updates/How to Obtain TVUSD Employment Verification Form
Dear Colleagues,
We know many TVUSD employees are contemplating the COVID-19 vaccine. For those who have opted to pursue the vaccine, below is information to assist you. Please know, we are doing our best to share information as it becomes available. The vaccine clinics are coordinated by Riverside County Public Health and we understand there is some misinformation circulating when employees are contacting them for vaccine appointments. The information they have shared and posted on their public website is that education employees are now eligible and are now able to make appointments for the vaccine. If you experience any issues, the County will have to resolve them for you directly. We will continue to advocate for education employees to be prioritized.
Proof and Identification Required for the Vaccine
The County has suggested that the following forms of employment identification can be used for verification to receive the vaccine.
-
Employee badge
-
Paystub
-
Employment Verification Letter
Because the vaccine clinics are being coordinated and managed throughout the County and subject to interpretation by the individuals running the clinics, we recommend that you take as many forms of employment identification as you can to verify your eligibility.
If you need a letter from TVUSD verifying your employment, here is the process you will need to follow.
For Employees Who Have A Scheduled Appointment TODAY ONLY:
Before 4 PM today, please send an email, with provider verification of your scheduled appointment, to the Human Resources Department to the attention of Nancy Mireles nmireles@tvusd.us for certificated staff and the attention of Kathy Sims ksims@tvusd.us for classified staff. Your email needs to include:
Your First and Last Name
Your Title
Your Site/DepartmentProvider Verification of Your Appointment Scheduled on January 14, 2021
The Human Resources Department will send back to you via email a pdf verification letter that you can print and take to your appointment TODAY.
For Employees Who Have Appointments Beginning Tomorrow, Friday, January 15, 2021
Here are your options:
Employees Print Their Own Forms:
-
Employees can access the Etrieve forms online and download the verification form from their Etrieve account and print. The directions will be updated later today and another email will be distributed to all employees.
School Site/Department Prints Forms:
-
A pdf file with completed employee verification forms will be sent to all school sites and department administrative offices. The pdf file will be accessible by the site/department administration and site/department secretary. Employees can contact their site/department office and request a copy be printed for them and arrange pick-up.
We understand that the vaccine appointments fill up quickly and that available slots may not coincide with every employee’s work schedule. We encourage you to select an appointment time that coordinates with your work schedule to the best of your ability. For appointments that do not coordinate with an employee’s work schedule, they should report their absence in accordance with their respective collective bargaining negotiated agreements.

January 13, 2021 - COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics and Offerings
Dear Colleagues,
We have just learned through other channels that Riverside County Public Health has updated its website and is currently taking appointments for Tier 1B individuals, and includes employees working in education.
Please see RIVCOPH's website for details, information, and answers to your questions about the vaccine, process, and requirements.
For those employees who do not have an employee ID badge as required to identify you as a district employee to receive the vaccination, we will provide an electronic letter. We will distribute the access information tomorrow.
Please know this information is just now being shared and it appears that RivCOPH hasn't completed updating their website with all of the info you may need. In the meantime, we encourage you to check the site and if appointment slots are full, please check back often. They indicate on their website that they will be continuing to open additional slots, including some walk-up clinics. Unfortunately, we were not notified by the County directly, and only learned of this through back channels and wanted to get to you as soon as possible. We are also working closely with local vaccine distributors and hope to have more options for employees soon. -

Testing of TVUSD Employees and Resources
California school employees are considered essential workers. As school personnel and as essential workers, all employees are required per Executive Order N-33-20 to adhere to all State and Local Health Officers guidelines including but not limited to testing. The testing mandates may be read in the California Department of Public Health ‘Framework for K-12 Schools in California’, Riverside County Guidance for Schools. Once TVUSD is allowed to return to on-campus learning, plans to routinely test employees will be implemented. Currently, if an employee needs a COVID test, please see the resources below.
There are currently many options for free testing, including through the Riverside County Department of Public Health https://gettested.ruhealth.org/home, your healthcare provider, and many drug stores and private labs that may bill your insurance.
Additionally, the City of Temecula maintains a robust list of available COVID testing resources. We encourage you to visit their page for available options. https://temeculaca.gov/1384/Local-COVID-19-Testing-Sites
