2020 Election for the Temecula Valley Unified School District Trustee Areas 1, 4, and 5
The Temecula Valley Unified School District is guided by a Governing Board composed of five publicly elected officials. Effective 2016, Governing Board members are elected using By-Trustee Area Election. Candidates must reside in specific Trustee Areas within the District's boundaries and are elected only by the voters who reside in the same Trustee Areas.
For the November 3, 2020 election, Trustee Areas 1, 4, and 5 will be up for election. Board members in Trustee Areas 1 and 5 will be elected to serve four year terms. The election for Trustee Area 4 is short term and will be elected to serve a two year term due to a vacancy and provisional appointment in August 2019. Between July 13 and August 7, candidates may obtain and file a Declaration of Candidacy with the Registrar of Voters in person, or by mail. If by mail, Declaration of Candidacy may be returned by certified mail in time to reach the Registrar of Voters by no later than the filing deadline. Potential candidates can also obtain the packet of information from the Temecula Valley Unified School District Office, Building #11 between the hours of 10am and 2pm between the same dates. Due to the recent orders by Governor Newsom, please set an appointment to pick up the paperwork through the TVUSD District Office.
