The National Honor Society, founded in 1921, is intended to recognize and encourage academic achievement while also fostering and developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. To be eligible for membership consideration, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and have submitted 10 hours of community service before the beginning of their junior year. Additionally, potential members will need to demonstrate skills in character, leadership, scholarship and service... the 4 pillars for National Honor Society. Potential members who are juniors and seniors are given the opportunity to apply in the fall of each school year. Each application is reviewed at least 3 times by our members of our faculty council. New members are notified by the end of October each school year.
