  • Course Objectives: Students will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas by the end of the course.

    1. Analyze historical evidence and sources.
      1. Interpretation of primary and secondary sources using historical context, point of view, author, intended audience and main idea.
    2. Create and support an argument that can be supported by historical evidence.
      1. Properly integrate a document into a historical essay.
    3. Make historical connections.
      1. Utilize the skills of comparison, contextualization and periodization.
      2. Use historical events to explain a current event. (Synthesis)
    4. Develop chronological reasoning.
      1. Utilize historical causation and continuity/change over time.
