K-12 Immunization Requirements
District schools enforce California Immunization laws that require all students enrolling in school to be fully vaccinated. Senate Bill 277 requires all California schoolchildren who attend private or public schools to be fully vaccinated regardless of their parents' personal or religious beliefs, unless they have a medical exemption (must be on file), The law was implemented beginning July 1, 2016.

The following immunizations are required for school enrollment by the state of California. All immunizations must be complete or current, meaning students have completed the requirements and they are not yet due for another dose. During the enrollment process an official record of the student’s immunization must be presented as verification of immunizations. This record can be a California Yellow Immunization Card, a medical record from a physician or an official school record. The record must be signed or stamped by the physician or by a school official.
- Polio - 4 doses at any age or 3 doses if one was given on or after the 4th birthday
- Diptheria, Pertussis and Tetanus (DPT) - 5 doses any age. 4 doses of Dtap meet the requirement if at least 1 dose was given on or after the 4th birthday. 3 doses meet the requirement if at least one dose of Tdap, DTap, or DTP vaccine was given on or after the 7th birthday. For 7th graders, at least 1 dose of pertussis containing vaccine is required on or after the students 7th birthday.
- Tdap Pertussis Booster - Required on or after 7th birthday for all students entering 7th grade.
- Hepatitis B - 3 doses
- Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) - 2 doses, both on or after the 1st birthday
- Varicella (Chicken Pox) - 2 doses
Second dose of varicella required for 7th grade entry as of July 2019
A 4 day grace period is allowed if vaccine was given 4 days prior to birthday
