Rho Kappa was established in 2000 and is a program of the National Council for the Social Studies. Our chapter was established in 2016 and is the only in Riverside County. The purpose of Rho Kappa is to stimulate a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of all the disciplines comprising the social studies curriculum (geography, history, economics, government, sociology, psychology and more). The main principles of truth, wisdom, knowledge and service are the guiding principles for Rho Kappa.
Members of CHS Rho Kappa serve as poll workers during elections, run voter registration drives, participate in the Southwest Valley Youth Court, are civically engaged and impact the community in a variety of ways. Last year, our chapter registered over 600 young people to vote, supported hurricane and fire relief efforts and worked with the Temecula Valley Historical Society.
