2022/23 school year:   No longer accepted

2023/24 school year:   Available from October 17, 2022 to January 31, 2023

In accordance with Board Policy 5116.1, the Temecula Valley Unified School District will accept Open Enrollment Intradistrict Transfer Requests to a different school from October 17, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. to January 31, 2023, at midnight. ​ These requests will receive equal priority consideration, regardless of the date submitted within the window, and responses for these will be sent by the end of May 2023.   

Intradistrict Transfer Requests submitted from February 1 to August 18, 2023, will be placed on a Waitlist, in the order they are received.  Parents/guardians will NOT receive a response, unless space becomes available for their request to be approved. 

Parents are advised to plan on attending their zoned school, or previously-approved school, unless they are notified otherwise.

IMPORTANT NOTICES:

►  You may NOT receive a response in time for cheerleading or sports try-outs, early course selections, early BASES enrollment, or other programs/activities.

►  We will NOT have status updates until responses are sent, which is:

• • By the end of May, for requests submitted within the Open Enrollment window
  • Only IF we are able to approve your request from the Waitlist, which will be determined after the first week of school

If you have not been contacted by the third week after the start of school, then we were unable to approve your request from the Waitlist.

►  Once students move on to middle or high school, they will be automatically enrolled at their zoned school based on their address.  If we are unable to approve your transfer request to a different school for middle or high school, your child will attend school with different peers at his or her zoned school.

►  Transfer requests are NOT guaranteed.  Parents should plan on attending their zoned school, unless they receive an approval.

DO NOT SUBMIT IF:   (These will NOT be processed)

• You are already attending your zoned school and move to another TVUSD school's boundary    

Contact your current school instead.  If they are on break, contact them upon their return.

• You want to attend your zoned school based on your address

• Your child is already on an approved Intradistrict Transfer to the school you are requesting

These are valid for all grades at the same elementary, middle or high school, as long as you continue to live within TVUSD

• Your child will be a TK student for 2023/24  

   We do NOT offer transfers for TK students.  Contact the Centralized Enrollment Center instead for placement. 

• You already submitted a request for 2023/24 

   For changes or corrections, email transfers@tvusd instead.  Do not submit twice.

OCTOBER 17, 2022  -  JANUARY 31, 2023:   OPEN ENROLLMENT

♦ All transfer requests received during the Open Enrollment window receive equal priority consideration regardless of the date received within the window.  

♦ Space availability at the school, grade and/or program requested is the major determining factor for approval.  However, students are also expected to have satisfactory attendance, citizenship and scholarship, in order to qualify for a transfer.   Transfer requests are not guaranteed  

♦ January 31, 2023 at midnight:  FINAL closing date/time for Open Enrollment transfer request priority consideration.  In order to staff our schools, we are unable to receive priority consideration requests after this date (no exceptions)

♦ May 31, 2023:  Notifications are sent via email to parents​/guardians​ who submitted an Intradistrict Transfer Request to a different school during the Open Enrollment period.  Please note that we will NOT have status updates prior to May 31st and will email responses as they become available.

If you wish to cancel or change the transfer request you already submitted, please email transfers@tvusd.us   Do not submit twice.

FEBRUARY 1, 2023  -  AUGUST 18, 2023:   WAITLIST

♦  All transfer requests received AFTER Open Enrollment, and up to one week after the start of the school year, are placed on a Waitlist in the order they are received.

♦ Date received and space availability at the school, grade and/or program are the major determining factors for approval.  However, students are also expected to have satisfactory attendance, citizenship and scholarship, in order to qualify for a transfer.  Transfer requests are not guaranteed

♦ Parents/guardians will NOT receive a response unless space becomes available for their transfer request to be approved from the Waitlist.  

♦ Parents/guardians are advised to plan on attending their zoned school or previously- approved school, unless you are notified via email that we are able to approve your Waitlist request, which could be up to two weeks after the start of school.

♦ If you are not contacted by two weeks after the start of school, it will mean that we were unable to approve your transfer request from the Waitlist, and we will no longer move students.

Please note that there are NO status updates for the Waitlist.  If you have not heard from us, it is because space has not become available for additional transfer students to the school, grade and/or program you requested.
