  • What can my daughter do to get ready for the season?

    Posted by:

For starters, she can join the SCGA Junior Golf Club, at $60.00 per child; a great investment that provides $5.00 green fees and $2.00 range balls at participating courses, including the Golf Club of Rancho California. It's a great way for them to develop their game during the spring and summer months leading up to the high school season. There are also opportunities to compete in SCGA, Valley Junior Golf and Southern Cal PGA Junior events. See our coaches for details.

  • What other requirements are there for my daughter to compete?

    Posted by:

It is mandatory that you submit a physical exam form to the CHS Athletic Office BEFORE tryouts. Per CIF rules, no student-athlete will be allowed to try out for a team without a completed physical form signed by a physician. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • What format does high school golf follow?

    Posted by:

CIF rules call for each team to play six golfers, counting the top five scores. All of our dual matches, including our Southwest League matches, are nine holes. We also play as many as three 18-hole invitationals. Our League Finals are 18 holes on opening day played at approximately 5,400 yards with the top 18 golfers plus ties advancing to a second day of individual-only competition from tees that play approximately 5,700 yards.

  • Where is our home course? When do we practice?

We practice and compete at the Golf Club of Rancho California (39500 Robert Trent Jones Parkway, Murrieta, CA 92563). The golf course is 2.4 miles north of Chaparral High School off of Winchester Road at Robert Trent Jones Parkway. On days when we don't have matches, we practice from 3:30 to 5:00pm.

  • Do I have to have golf experience to participate?

    Posted by:

Not at all! We welcome golfers of all experience and abilities. We especially welcome multi-sport athletes looking to test their leadership skills & ability to compete under pressure in an individual sport with a team component. But we also take pride in having taught the game to golfers who a year or two later become fixtures in our varisty lineup. We only ask for you patience and commitment to working hard during our 90 minute practice sessions.
