2023-2024 Math 6 Syllabus 

This course will cover the 6th grade standards listed below according to the California math standards-

6th Grade: (1) connecting ratio and rate to whole number multiplication and division, and using concepts of ratio and rate to solve problems; (2) completing the understanding of division of fractions and extending the notion of number to the system of rational numbers, which includes negative numbers; (3) writing, interpreting, and using expressions and equations; and (4) developing understanding of statistical thinking.

We will also cover foundational skills in Geometry such as area, surface area, and volume.

Math 6 Grading Scale:

35% Classwork & Performance Tasks

10% i-Ready Monthly Assignments

50% Formative Assessments

5% District Semester Final & District Performance Task
