It is our honor to recognize the accomplishments of our students.  Our staff strives to do so every day to encourage students to do their very best at all times.  In addition, we also have several opportunities throughout the school year.

GENERAL RECOGNITIONS

PANTHER PATS

Panther Pats are daily rewards given to students for a myriad of reasons.  Panther Pats are given for positive behavior, help cleaning up, and many other activities.  Students can use their Panther Pats for a weekly drawing for a pencil. Or, students can save their Panther Pats.  Once students save 15, they earn a trip to the Principal’s Office for a prize.

VISIT TO THE PRINCIPAL’S OFFICE

Once students have saved 15 Panther Pats, they earn a trip to the Principal’s Office.  Students are called to the office every Friday. Once at the office, they turn in their Panther Pats and are allowed to choose a prize.  Every time a student visits the Principal’s Office, he or she will receive a signature on his or her Panther Pride card.

PRINCIPAL’S PARTY

Any student who has 10 signatures on their Panther Pride card earns an invitation to the Principal’s Party.  This party is held approximately three times per year and includes a fun activity and healthy treat with the Principal.

SEMESTER AWARDS

AWARDS

Awards are given to students in 3rd – 5th grade at an assembly at the end of each semester.  Awards are given for accomplishments such as: Math, Reading, Writing, Sportsmanship, and Leadership.

HONOR ROLL

Honor Roll is awarded to students in 4th and 5th grade who have earned at least 3 A’s and 2 B’s on their report cards.

PRINCIPAL’S HONOR ROLL

Principal’s Honor Roll is awarded to students in 4th and 5th grade who have earned all A’s on their report cards.

The date and time of the Semester Awards Assemblies will be posted on the school calendar and printed in the Panther Planner.  Any student receiving an award will also receive written notification sent home in their Wednesday Envelope so that family members can attend the assembly.

FRIDAY FLAG SALUTE

Every Friday, we hold an assembly at 9:00 am.  We encourage all parents and family members to attend this assembly.  It is a fun assembly with lots of school pride and spirit. Each week there is a small dance party or game, students who sing, and awards that are given.  Students are encouraged to wear our school colors, teal and black, every Friday.

We encourage all of our singers and performers to audition to perform a patriotic song for Flag Salute.  If you are interested in auditioning, please check the Master Calendar for audition dates and times, auditions are held approximately four times per year.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH

Student of the Month awards will be given by classroom teachers.  Students can receive this award for various reasons, including, but not limited to: Citizenship, Leadership, Sportsmanship, or Academic Success.  These awards are given at Friday Flag Salute each week. Classroom teachers will notify parents if their child is receiving this award.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE

Perfect Attendance will be awarded to classes on a weekly basis and to students on a semester basis.  To earn Perfect Attendance for the week, classes need to have had all students arrive on time and all students in attendance Monday-Thursday of that week.  Classes earning Perfect Attendance will be given a Giant Panther Pat. For students to earn Perfect Attendance for a semester, individual students need to have had no absences, tardies, or early releases for that entire semester.

GIANT PANTHER PATS

Giant Panther Pats are awarded to classes that go above and beyond.  Classes can get these awards for a medley of reasons, including but not limited to: library behavior, classroom behavior, VAPA/PE behavior, classroom cleanliness, or attendance.  These awards are posted in classes for all to see and to promote group accountability.

END OF YEAR AWARD

PRESIDENTIAL HONOR ROLL

Presidential Honor Roll is awarded at the end of the year to students in 5th grade who have earned all A’s in both 4th and 5th grade.  This award is determined by criteria given by the President of the United States.
