• Updated October 17

There will be no weekly test on Friday, October 18, due to the fact that it is a modified day.  We will take test Test 7 on October 25.

TVUSD has invested in an online, adaptive program called Dreambox.  We (middle school math teachers) are being encouraged to use it.  Students can log in to their Clever accounts and start playing from home.  They will need a laptop, desktop, Chromebook or iPad to play.  It will not work with any other tablets or devices.  Students that do not have access can use the school computers before school, during breaks and afters school.  If that is an issue, please let me know and we will figure something out during their PRIDE period. It is recommended that students complete 7 - 8 lessons per week.  However, since each lesson takes approximately 10 minutes to do, I have decided my requirements will be 3 lessons per week starting on October 21.  This is the minimum and students are encouraged to do more if they'd like. This will add about 30 minutes (total) of homework each week.  Students can get that done in one day, or do 10 minutes per day for 3 days.  This will count as one test score at the end of the semester and will be based on the percentage of lessons completed.  Students will need to complete 24 lessons by December 20 to get full credit.  Their progress will be posted on Infinite Campus under "Dreambox."  The progress will not affect their overall grade until December 20.  Second semester will be a different total but will also average 3 lessons per week.  This program was piloted by district teachers and has received positive feedback from teachers and students alike.  Hopefully, it helps your child as well.  If you have any questions, please let me know.
