Library Computers

  • COMPUTER USE:

THE INTERNET AT GARDNER MIDDLE SCHOOL WILL BE USED FOR SCHOOL-RELATED RESEARCH ONLY!  AT NO TIMES ARE GAMES OR “INTERNET SURFING” ALLOWED!

Topics that will be questioned by library staff include such things as video game sites, skateboarding, pop music/video sites, and anything else that appears to be non-school related

    Logging onto the computers:
    • To log into computers, students must use their 10-digit ID number and the password that they created at the beginning of the school year.
    • Students should write their password in their planner, or other safe place, in order to help them remember it for the entire school year.  Should a student lock themselves out of the system due to using the incorrect password or if they forget their password, they will have to visit the library to have their account reset.

Do not wait until the last minute to start or finish assignments! Computer use is on a first come, first serve basis, and you are not guaranteed to always get a computer!

Students who fail to abide by the District regulations shall be subject to disciplinary action, revocation of the user account, and legal action as appropriate per District Board Policy BP 6163.4

    PRINTER USE:

Students may use the computers to complete class assignments, as well as print their school work on the library/media center printer.

AT NO TIME WILL STUDENTS BE PERMITTED TO USE THE LIBRARY/MEDIA CENTER PRINTER FOR PERSONAL PRINTING!

Students may print up to 5 pages, per visit, at no charge. Additional pages will cost 10 cents per page, at the descretion of library staff. Please ask a library staff member for help in order to possibly condense the number of printed pages that may be necessary, especially when printing pictures.

Please print from Word documents or Google Docs only, not directly from websites, in order to avoid the possibility of printing multiple unintended pages.
