Grizzly family, my name is Sara Slowbe and it is my privilege to serve as your Assistant Principal. Gardner Middle School has an amazing reputation and dedicated staff, and I am excited to work to continue to make GMS the premier middle school. 

2020-21 marks my 17th year in education. I’m originally from the San Diego area, and attended college at University of Washington. After graduating from UW, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in History and Master’s in Teaching, I began my teaching career in the Seattle area. I moved back to southern California in 2007 and taught in Escondido for 13 years, the past several years spent as a teacher leader supporting professional learning, English learners, testing, and more. Most recently, I worked in a district administrator role as the Language & Literacy Content Specialist. 

It is thrilling to be back at a site where I get to work more with teachers, students, and families. I am most excited about working with the GMS and TVUSD staff to engage in equity, access, and inclusion so all students can succeed. Also, I’m currently working on my EdD in Educational Leadership through SDSU. Go Aztecs!

My husband and I live in Temecula with our two children. We are invested in working with and for our fabulous community. It’s a great day to be a Grizzly- let’s ROAR!
