I have been teaching in the Temecula Valley Unified School District for 26 years where I have had the opportunity to teach Kindergarten, first, second, and third grades, along with computer lab. I chose to work part time 16 years ago and job share so I can enjoy my passion for teaching.  This schedule allows me time for my family in Escondido, where I live with my husband, 11th grade son Wyatt, and Lucy the black lab.

On my time away from school I love to quilt, read, and do projects around my house.  I'm active in my son's school while being on the board of our family non-profit organization for Esophageal Cancer Awareness. In the past year, I have been trained as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) in the foster care system in San Diego County.

At the end of the day, teaching is my passion along with being my job.

I am so excited to begin teaching again!  I taught for 10 years in California in Concord, Elk Grove and Lancaster.  After my first son, Wade, was born I knew I wanted to stay home to raise him.  I cherished the ten years that I stayed home raising my two boys Wade, now in 5th grade, and Sam, now in 2nd grade, both at Barnett!

I have been a substitute teacher for the past two years, mostly at Barnett.  What a neat opportunity that has been getting to know so many Pioneers!  I am thrilled to be partner teaching 3rd grade with Mrs. Hamilton, and I am so happy and honored to be a part of your child's growth and learning.

I received my BA in Liberal Studies at CSU, Chico.  I attended St. Mary's College in Moraga for my teaching credential.  After moving back to my hometown of Sacramento, I attended CSU, Sacramento and earned my Master of Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction.

Things I enjoy are reading, traveling, hiking, and cooking (minus the dishes).  I also love spending family time with my husband, two boys, and two dogs - Walter and Cassie.
