Mrs. Tarah Gilbert

Hi! My name is Mrs. Gilbert and I am so excited to be your kindergarten teacher this year.  It’s going to be a fun year full of learning, creating, and exploring; and I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us!  I want to know ALL about you, but first, I’m going to tell you a few things about me.

I grew up in Northern California and am the oldest sibling.  I have two sisters and one brother.  After I graduated high school, I went to Chico State for two years before transferring to San Diego State.  It was there that I received my B.A. and Masters Degree in Education.  GO AZTECS!  I loved San Diego so much that I decided to make Southern California my permanent home.

I am married to Mr. Gilbert and we have two amazing and spunky children.  My daughter loves soccer and hopes to be a neonatal nurse when she grows up.  She will be in 7th grade this year! My son loves playing baseball and will be a fifth grader at Summit Academy this school year. They are so much fun and always keep me on my toes!  We also have a rescue dog named Gunner.  The kids call him “Puppy Gunner”, even though he’s about seventy pounds and almost fourteen years old!  Gunner snores really loudly and does a ton of cool tricks.

This will be my 17th year teaching elementary school.  I have previously taught third grade, fourth grade, and kindergarten with the Vista Unified School District.  I also taught third grade at Tony Tobin for the last eight years. This year I cannot be more thrilled to be going back to kindergarten at Summit!  We are going to have an AMAZING year together!!!
