  About Me

I currently live in Temecula with my husband, Ryan, and our black labrador, Kaiya.  I am originally from Ohio and most of my family resides there.  I have also lived in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Washington.  I love sunny Southern California and I'm happy to call it my forever home!  In my free time I enjoy reading, exercising, shopping, going to the beach, traveling, and trying out new restaurants.

This is my 14th year teaching.  I have experiences teaching all grade levels Kindergarten through Third Grade.

About Literacy Groups

As a Literacy Specialist, I will be teaching some students in a small group for 30 minutes to provide him/her with extra support. Small group instruction greatly benefits some students as they learn and master the Common Core Standards, because it allows for individualized teaching. The Literacy skills I will be focusing on include phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and writing.

The reading program I will be implementing will be a positive and supportive program designed to give students an extra boost in their academic skills and self-esteem. My overall goal as a Literacy Specialist is to meet my students’ needs, but also keep them motivated and engaged in the learning process. I strive to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that promotes achievement to the highest potential.
