Ms. Julie Gansko
In our Barnett Elementary STEPSS program, we embrace the amazing! Our students may have some specialized learning needs, but they amaze us each and everyday!
To give families a little information about my background, I grew up in South Dakota. I have been working with students with special needs and more specifically children with autism for the past 23 years. I started in the field providing Applied Behavioral Analysis instruction to students within the home and school settings for 5 years. After earning my teaching credential and masters degree from Chapman University, I taught a K-2nd grade special day class designed to meet the learning needs of children with autism in the San Diego area for 5 years. I enjoyed teaching that type of class so much that I never stopped! When I moved to the Temecula Valley area in 2006, I was thrilled to take on a STEPSS Class in the Temecula Valley Unified School District and have continued in that position.
I enjoy helping new STEPSS teachers in our district and have served as a coach for new teachers who are clearing their credentials for the past 5 years. In my personal life, I enjoy nature walks, running, shopping, and reading.
It is my joy to work at Barnett Elementary teaching our students with special needs!
