Vail Elementary School Renovations

Vail Elementary School - A NEW Renovated Campus is Coming!

What is planned?  In order to upgrade one of TVUSD’s oldest schools, VES students will need to be relocated to other school campuses for the 2018/19 school year.  This will allow for expansion renovations to be completed on the campus, in addition to the already planned modernization. 

 

What schools will VES students attend during the 2018/19 school year?  Based on space availability and proximity for students, the following TVUSD elementary schools have been identified to receive VES’ students. 

Rancho Elementary School, Temecula Elementary School, Vintage Hills Elementary School, and Paloma Elementary School

 

What happens to VES teachers, staff, and administration during the 2018/19 and 2019/20 school years?  The District’s Human Resources Department will work closely with all VES staff members to determine assignments.  There are a number of factors (i.e. vacancies, student enrollment, retirements, etc.) that will have to be considered before staffing determinations can be made. including students enrollment and staffing changes including retirements, etc., that are not yet known.

VES Families - Please join us on Tuesday, March 13 at 6:00 p.m. for a Family Information Night at VES in the multi-purpose room.  

TVUSD is excited to share that Vail Elementary School is going to receive expanded renovations that will benefit classrooms and buildings on the VES campus –essentially, it will be a brand new campus! 
What are the renovation benefits to the VES campus? The campus will receive:

· New, state of the art buildings - Everyone benefits!

· Clean, modernized, ADA (Americans With Disability Act) compliant facilities

· Reinvestment and preservation of VES neighborhood school

· Expanded classroom space to plan for growth in enrollment due to new city developments

· Increase ease of access and provide for future parking lot expansion

Frequently Asked Questions

While all information will be posted on the website, we wanted to share a few Q&A’s that we have already developed.
 

1.Will students be able to choose a school other than the one designated if they provide their own transportation?

If there is room in the grade level at the requested site, parents may request a transfer to a different site understanding that a bus will not be provided.
 

2.Will transportation to the new temporary school be provided? If a bus is required, will we be charged?

Yes, consistent with our rules about walking distances, there will be no charge for the one-year movement to a new school if a bus ride is provided.


3. Will my child be given priority admission and be able to continue to attend BASES at the new school?

A priority application timeline is being considered for VES families.


4. Will my child be able to maintain their enrollment at the temporary school if desired or will they have to return to VES?

Maintaining enrollment at the temporary school would be based on space availability and parents will be provided with information about transfer request timelines.  During the one year of relocation, the designated school sites will have additional teachers.  Once VES is completed, the schools will be staffed based on current enrollment standards. 


5. When are the family nights being held?

A family information night has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 13 at 6:00 p.m. at VES in the multipurpose room.
