Superintendent's Welcome Message

Superintendent Ritter and Executive Cabinet Welcome You to the 2017/18 School Year

Superintendent, Timothy Ritter

Mr. Timothy Ritter began his career in education in 1985 as a high school Biology teacher for the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cal Poly Pomona and holds Master's Degrees in Biology and Education from Cal State San Bernardino.

He began his administrative career with TVUSD in 2001, when he was named Principal of Chaparral High School. In 2004, he was appointed Principal of the newly opened Great Oak High School.

In 2007, Mr. Ritter was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Educational Support Services (ESS) and a year later to Deputy Superintendent of ESS. After three years leading the ESS division, Mr. Ritter was promoted to Superintendent. In July 2010, he officially took the helm of TVUSD, replacing retiring Superintendent, Dr. Carol Leighty.

In May 2013, Mr. Ritter was named Certificated Administrator of the Year by the Riverside County Office of Education. Of his nomination, a former Great Oak High School student wrote, “I and every Great Oak graduate owe a great deal to Mr. Ritter. He created an environment that fostered our growth through synergy that will prepare us for any of the tumultuous twists and turns that life throws in our path.”
