Community Advisory Committee (CAC)

Community Advisory Committee Accepting Award Nominations

Attention School Staff, Parents, Students, and Community Members:

The TVUSD Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will be hosting an awards ceremony to recognize and show appreciation of individuals who have exemplified excellence. We are relying on community members, staff, parents, and students to identify those individuals who deserve to be honored for their efforts.

ANY STUDENT WITH AN IEP THAT ATTENDS SCHOOL
IN TEMECULA VALLEY CAN BE NOMINATED!

Download the nomination form to nominate deserving individuals who are outstanding examples of character, students who help set an example for others and go out of their way to make some special connections with their teachers and peers. Some other qualities these nominees might possess would be: courage, perseverance, a positive attitude, independence, resilience, kindness, and dedication.

Please describe how the individual has exceptionally displayed these characteristics in the school setting as well as their daily lives. Specific examples and personal stories are encouraged, please be as descriptive as possible. Students will be recognized at the preschool level through adult program.

Please take the time to download, fill out and submit the nomination form or submit the online survey, so deserving individuals have the opportunity to receive recognition for their efforts. The deadline for submission of nominations is April 20, 2018. Recipients will be selected and notified individually on May 4, 2018. You are encouraged to attend the CAC Connections Awards Ceremony on May 15, 2018 at TVUSD’s board meeting where recipients will be honored.

CAC Parent Trainings

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is mandated by the state of California and is composed of mostly parents, but also includes educators, administrators, and community members who advocate for effective Special Education programs and services.

We also advise the Board of Education on priorities in the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA.) CAC offers parent education and advocacy training, as well as support for special education programs directed at helping students with IEPs.

This is your opportunity to connect with other parents, school district teachers, and administrators to learn about valuable resources for your family, as well as exchange information and ideas.
