NEW REQUESTS TO A DIFFERENT SCHOOL WITHIN TVUSD THAT IS NOT YOUR SCHOOL OF RESIDENCE

In accordance with Board Policy 5116.1, the Temecula Valley Unified School District accepted Open Enrollment Intradistrict Transfer Requests to a different TVUSD school from October 16, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. to January 31, 2018 at midnight, ​for students​ who live within the TVUSD boundary at the beginning of the 2018/19 school year.  Requests submitted during this priority consideration window received equal consideration, regardless of the date submitted within the window.

 

All Intradistrict Transfer Requests submitted AFTER Open Enrollment are placed on a Wait List, in the order they are received, up until two weeks after the start of the school year (no exceptions).  Parents/guardians will ONLY be notified IF space becomes available for the transfer to be approved.  (Vail Elementary School families continued to receive priority consideration until March 9, 2018.)

 

●   If you are already attending your school of residence and move to another TVUSD

     school's boundary, please contact your current school (if they are on break, please

     contact them upon their return).   Do not submit an online transfer request.

●   DO NOT SUBMIT IF:

               - Your child is are already on an approved Intradistrict transfer to the requested school 

                 (See FAQ #4 here)

               - You are requesting your school of residence after the first year of transfer  

                 (See FAQ #8 here)

               - Your child will be a TK student for 2018/19  (Not available for TK students - See TRANSFERS

2018/19 Timeline for Submissions & Responses for Intradistrict Transfers to a Different School:

October 16, 2017  to January 31, 2018                                           

OPEN ENROLLMENT for new Intradistrict Transfer Requests to a different school (within the Temecula School District).  All transfer requests received during the Open Enrollment window receive equal priority consideration regardless of date received within the window.  

 

Space availability at the school, grade and/or program is the major determining factor for approval.

 

January 31, 2018 – FINAL closing date for Open Enrollment transfer request priority consideration.    In order to staff our schools, we are unable to receive priority consideration requests after this date (no exceptions).

 

By May 31, 2018Notifications will be sent to parents​/guardians​ who submitted an Intradistrict Transfer Request to a different school during the Open Enrollment period.

WAIT LIST for new Intradistrict Transfer Requests for the 2018/19 school year.

 

All transfer requests received AFTER Open Enrollment, and up to two weeks after the start of the school year, will be placed on a Waiting List in the order they are received.

 

Date received and space availability at the school, grade and/or program are the major determining factors for approval.

 

Parents will ONLY be notified IF space becomes available for the transfer request to be approved.  You should plan on attending your school of residence, unless you are notified that we are able to approve your request from the Wait List.

 

If you are not contacted by September 3rd, we were unable to approve your transfer request from the Wait List, and the Wait List will be ​CANCELLED.
