4/1/2017 - New Temecula Measure S Sales & Use Tax Rate for 2017:  Voter-approved Temecula Measure S, the Temecula 911 Emergency Response, Public Safety and Vital City Services Measure, increases the City’s existing sales tax rate by 1 percent (1.00%).  As a result, effective April 1, 2017, the Temecula sales and use tax rate will increase from the current rate of 7.75 percent to the new rate of 8.75 percent.  See attached spreadsheet for the Sales and Use tax City rates in Riverside County.

 

1/1/2017 - New Standard Mileage Rate for 2017:  The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has announced that the standard mileage rate will be 53.5 cents per mile for 2017. We have updated the Mileage Claim Form for employee use. This rate applies only to school business miles driven. Check with your supervisor if you are unsure if this information applies to you.

 

1/1/2017 - New Sales & Use Tax Rate for 2017:  Voter-approved Proposition 30, which imposed the one quarter of one percent (0.25 percent) temporary statewide sales and use tax rate expires on December 31, 2016.  As a result, effective January 1, 2017, the California statewide sales and use tax rate will decrease by 0.25 percent from the current rate of 7.50 percent to the new rate of 7.25 percent.  However, the total tax rate in many cities and counties will remain higher than the statewide rate because of local voter-approved district taxes in those areas.  See attached spreadsheet for the Sales and Use tax City rates in Riverside County.

8/7/2015- New Inter-district Mileage Chart:  There have been some changes to the previous mileage amounts due to city road improvements, such as the extension of Butterfield Stage Road.​ The new mileage chart is to be used when employees are requesting reimbursement for mileage incurred for school business purposes. ​ Check with your supervisor if you are unsure if this information applies to you.
