The Temecula Valley Unified School District offers a variety of alternative education programs. Realizng not all students thrive in the traditional classroom setting, our district provides students with options that will allow them to reach their educational goals.
Rancho Vista High School (Continuation High School)
Students who attend Rancho Vista High School are either credit deficient, are in need of a smaller learning environment or have family obligations that impact their ability to attend a traditional high school. Students engage in learning through state mandated academic courses and meet with counselors regularly to discuss graduation status and career options. Students are often referred to a continuation high school as a means of graduating within a reasonable amount of time.
Susan H. Nelson High School (Independent Study High School)
Students work independently, according to a written agreement and under the supervision of a credentialed teacher. Students follow the district-adopted curriculum and must meet the district graduation requirements. Students who attend NHS must be focused, independent learners who must keep up with rigorous course expectations.
