Superintendent, Timothy Ritter

Tim-Ritter.gifMr. Ritter began his career in education in 1985 as a high school biology teacher for the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. He obtained his bachelor's degree in biology from Cal Poly Pomona and holds master's degrees in biology and education from Cal State San Bernardino.

 

He began his administrative career with TVUSD in 2001, when he was named Principal of Chaparral High School. In 2004, he was appointed Principal of the newly opened Great Oak High School.

 

In 2007, Mr. Ritter was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Educational Support Services and a year later to Deputy Superintendent of ESS. After three years leading the ESS division, he was promoted to Superintendent. In July 2010, Mr. Ritter officially took the helm of TVUSD, replacing retiring Superintendent, Dr. Carol Leighty.

 

Of his appointment to Superintendent, Mr. Ritter says, “I am honored and excited to serve the Temecula Valley Unified School District in this capacity. I welcome the opportunity to continue building upon the positive relationships Dr. Leighty established with our teachers, support staff, parents, and the community. "
