Summer School 2018

Registration

April 9th-May 11th 

Should there be additional spots, a late registration day will be Thursday, June 14th for students who failed a course Spring 2018 at 8:00 am at TVHS

 

Your high school counselors are accepting the registration paperwork for APEX and College Prep. Recovery Courses. 

  • Registration for acceleration courses can ONLY be done online through the Temecula Education Foundation (TEF), https://temeculaeducationfoundation.org/starting in early May. Please visit their website for more information.
  • Credit Recovery registration forms are available now! Deadline to turn into your counselor is Friday, May 11th

Students will receive a confirmation email of their summer school spot Friday June 8th

 

 

Students are dropped upon their 2nd absences.  There are no exceptions to this rule.  

This is one way to make up credit if students cannot commit to attending 19 days then the student should wait to take credit recovery during a 7th period or within their school day during the school year. 

 

  • It is a first come first serve basis and classes will fill up fast!
  • Priority is given to Seniors, Juniors and then Sophomores. 
  • Freshman - credit recovery is is only available to you in Algebra I and Geometry
  • Emails and teleparent messages will be sent to parents to check Infinite Campus for grades.
  • Class offerings subject to change due to enrollment/staffing.

2018 TVUSD Summer School at Temecula Valley High

For questions regarding summer school, contact your school sites counseling office,  Summer school staff does not start until the 1st day of summer school 6/18/2018.  Please DO NOT call the hosting sites counseling office.

 

1. APEX – Credit Recovery (NON COLLEGE PREP) There are no fees for these courses

6/18/18 -7/13/18 ONLY 2017/2018 11th-12th can register for Apex.

Sessions will be:  Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday  7:30-9:30 or 9:45-11:45

 

2. Credit Recovery College Prep. There are no fees for these courses

6/18/18 -7/13/18 Monday - Friday

Sessions will be:  Monday – Friday 7:30-9:30 or 9:45-11:45

FRESHMAN may retake Math course only - Algebra 1 or Geometry

  • Courses to be offered with enrollment: Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, English 9, English 10, English 11, World History, US History, Biology, Chemistry

 

 

3. Temeculundefineda Education Foundation - Accelerated Summer School Courses                      

 

6/18/18 -7/13/18  Monday-Friday - 9th through 12th may register for acceleration courses.

Sessions will be: Monday-Friday 7:30-9:30 or 9:45-11:45 (year-long courses are 7:30-11:45)

 

The exact courses that will be offered will be determined by teacher availability and registration numbers. Courses that traditionally have been offered include Spanish 1, 2, Ceramics, Economics, Government, and Geometry.

 

 

In the meantime, courses that are slated are noted on the TEF Website and Registration begins Monday May 7th. Registration is done through the Temecula Education Foundation (TEF), www.temeculaeducationfoundation.org . A link on the summer school website leads students and parents there. Students entering 9th - 12th grade are able to register for classes online first come-first serve basis starting May 1st.

 

 

PARKING

For Summer School 2018,  students need to park in the TVHS parking lot near the GYM.  

Attendance

STUDENTS MAY NOT MISS MORE THAN TWO DAYS TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR ANY SUMMER SCHOOL COURSE

 

Students will receive an F and be dropped upon their 2nd absence.  3 tardies = 1 absence.

 

This is a credit recovery or acceleration opportunity.

One day of instruction is equivalent 2 week of instruction. There are no exceptions to the attendance rule.

FAQs

How do we register for credit recovery summer school if I failed a course?

Registration for all courses begins April 9th. High School Counseling Departments are accepting the registration paperwork for the Apex & College Prep Recovery Courses.

 

How do we register for the Acceleration courses?

Registration for acceleration courses can only be done online through the Temecula Education Foundation (TEF)  website  starting May 7th.

 

When does Registration start?

Credit Recovery registration forms are available now. Deadline for turning into counselor is May 12th.

 

How will I know I am signed up?

Students will receive confirmation EMAIL of their summer school spot by June 6th.

 

Which classes can I take and how are they filled?

Priority is given to non grads, then incoming seniors, then incoming juniors.  2017/18 Freshman can ONLY take credit recovery for math; Algebra I, Geometry or Algebra II.

 

What happens if I missed registration or just found out I failed a class?

A late registration day will be Thursday June 14th for students who failed a course Spring 2018 ONLY at 8:00. Most classes fill up by June 14th but if you missed the June 14th registration day you can come to TVHS @ 7 am on Monday June 18th and we can see if there is space in the class(es) you need.

 

How do I know what classes I am signed up for or what room to report to?

Email messages will be sent to have parents check Infinite Campus for scheduled classes and for grades. Please make sure you have a parent portal account setup before the end of the 2017-18 school year so you will receive this valuable communication.
